Provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to operate as part of an emergency control organisation.
This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to work within the command, control, and coordination structure of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). An ECO’s priority is the safety of facility occupants and visitors during an emergency. ECO members are responsible for pre-emergency, emergency, and post-emergency actions. It includes undertaking pre-emergency planning, taking appropriate actions in an emergency, and assisting with post-emergency activities.

Skills must be demonstrated working individually in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, industry-validated scenarios and simulations to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge. Simulated assessment environments will include simulated real-life working environments where these skills and knowledge would be performed, with all the relevant equipment and resources of that working environment.
Webinar face-to-face learning will be performed via the internet using Zoom software. The sessions will be led by an experienced trainer encompassing the same principles as a face-to-face delivery with role-play video-based practical assessments recorded in real-time. We will provide all necessary equipment and materials to undertake this unit of competency. These will be packed and posted to you along with the required course material. As this is a webinar course, you will require access to a computer/laptop with good internet access, a webcam, and a microphone.
Your certificate does not have an expiry date, however, industry standards recommend retraining every year.
